What is the most important thing on your computer? Your data! Parts and software can be purchased but you can't buy your memories in a store. Data Backup is the first thing we do as a part of our service to ensure that while your computer is in our hands, your data is safe. Once you computer leaves, however, you need to have a reliable backup method to avoid those Data Recovery fees. Just think of what is on your computer right now, could you afford to lose those business proposals, your e-mail, and pictures of your kids or all the music that you downloaded for $1 a piece? When you start to think about it, backing up may not be such a bad idea!
After a simple install, it looks and feels like part of your computer so there’s nothing new to learn.
When your computer is idle, it automatically backs up new and changed files. You don’t have to do anything!
You accidentally deleted or otherwise lost some of your files, it takes just a few clicks from your desktop to get them back.
Positives

• Quick
• Rewritable
• Large Storage
Negatives
• One static shock can cause complete data loss
• High Failure rate if data recovery is needed
Great for data transfer (temporary moving the data from computer to computer) but bad option for backup or storage of your important data for any length of time.
Positives
• Cheap
• Quick
• Rewritable
• CD hold 700MB
• DVD hold 4.7GB
Negatives
• One disc per backup (most common)
• Does not update with file changes
• Multi-session burning still leaves a lot of wasted discs over time
• Scratched if not stored properly (ruin)
Even with multi-session burning you are left with out of date or piles of scratched cd/dvd's before long but it's the best alternative if you cannot have a hard drive or online backup solution.
Positives
• Automated Backup
• Fast Backup
• Rewritable
• Large Storage
Negatives
• Higher inital cost
• Correct setup may require help
Adding a quality hard drive back-up solution will help to ensure that your data stays safe and sound. Speed and security of a backup external hard drive only is passed by online backup due to disaster avoidance from having an offsite location for your data. There are tradeoffs between the two but is a solid choice when looking to back up your data.
